Sarah led the beautiful stallion out of the barn and patted his neck softly. She was going to ride him bare-back today. Hero snorted impatiently and pawed in the dirt. Sarah laughed and vaulted onto his back spritely. Hero immediately calmed down and waited for directions. Sarah lightly squeezed her legs and Hero started walking. She squeezed twice more and got him into a canter. They cantered down to the beach and Hero played in the waves. Sarah then stopped him in the middle of one and he jumped and started playing again. She laughed and nudged him into a gallop. Sarah was leaning low over him, clutching both nylon reins and silky mane. As the pair reached the a turn in the beach, Sarah skid him to a stop. She turned him and trotted the excited stallion along. She gave him a slight nudge and again the pair was flying lightly across the beach. Sarah turned him toward the ocean and she allowed him in girth-deep before turning to swim along the edge of the ocean. When Hero had had enough swimming he walked upward until he was only in water up to his knees. Sarah pushed him into a canter and they canter across the beach happily. Hero started playing in the incoming waves again and Sarah laughed. A seagull screeched overhead and Hero, startled, reared and took off at a gallop. Gripping firmly with her legs, Sarah leaned low over him, knowing he would run only a little while. When he had run about half a mile he realized he wasn't doing and good. Sarah pulled back and turned him around. Walking in the waves, Everyday Hero snorted and began to trot. Sarah pulled him back to a walk and then signaled him to trot. They trotted along until Sarah pulled him to a walk and walked him back to the barn. She slid off and led him inside
