The colt walked beside the jockey, his ears flicking in all directions. His pearly-white pelt completed with pink tips made you wonder if this was actualy a race horse? Strange colours, and not to mention docile temperment where usualy last on the Thoroughbred characteristic list. The colt wasen't going to spring around, he wasen't going to make a racket or cause any trouble. He was rather quiet today, walking causualy at his own pace. Tail flicking behind him, head bobbing contently. A racer, aye? It was hard to beleive at first sight. But when provoked the colt could run. He was a grade four racer now, much ahead of the other two year old's. The colt was highly lovable, you could grow attatched to his cuddly yet sparky nature in a matter of seconds.
Nick swung into the saddle, the tiny jockey pad didn't budge, it was tight around the girth of the colt. Freckles dipped his head and side stepped at the preassure, walking forwards almost at once. The cremello's blue eyes where peircing as they moved in his sockets, trying to pick up his surroundings as fast as possible. Nicked pushed him forwards, the track loomed ahead, but the colt didn't seem to care, he was simply looking around at the surrounding paddocks, before growing tired and dropping his head. Nick raised his eyebrows, it was hard to think that this colt could actualy run. A sudden flick of the whip to Freckle's flanks made him jump, he launched himself forwards off his hinds and burst forwards at a gallop, dust rising behind him. Nick was half hanging out of the saddle by this time and struggled to maintain balance "Woahhh Boy" mmm, that was one thing freck didn't respond to, voice commands.
The colt sped on, still in fright of the sudden snap. Nick soon had himself in the saddle, and under full controll, though his face was clearly printed with as much fright as the thoroughbred beneath him. He rode the colt at the speedy gallop for a while, untill he started to loose impulsion. At the half mark, he was going so slow almost at a canter, Nick allowed him to carry out this pace. Footloose was now layered in a thin coat of sweat, a liquid that rolled down his neck, gathering dust before dripping to the ground. His stride was lacking enthusiasm now great time, he felt so slow and uninterested that Nick was rather puzzled. But the thaught of the crop came again, it flicked down hard at his gut "Hupp!" Nick shouted, this time when the colt made his burst of speed, the jockey was ready, tight grip at his reins and main, he leaned forwards, allowing the colt to express the talent that had been letting him win.
He raced fowards, his hinds ripped and flexed, the muscle was now alive and bulding. His shoulders had the same story, and though he hated to run, for once, he seemed to enjoy it. Head pushed lower to the ground, ears pinned flat to his skull, nose reaching and reaching to pick up speed. By now they had run a full lap at gallop without the colt even knowing, and they didn't hesitate to finnish another two. It was amazing to see him run, the power in his stride and his light hooves dancing over the ground made you wonder why the colt wasen't a fan of running. Oh well, but he was a fan of winning. And win he will, if he can keep up the incredible speed seen today he'll be a grade one in no time.
