The colt danced, his hooves stepping ever so lightly over the earth. The colt was new to Snow Pearl, but he had grown a liking to Cosmopolitan, a 9 year old gelding was actualy bonding with him quite nicely. The racers where usualy put singularly in yards, but Krazy was new and he was also known for being a bit of a 'scaredy cat'. Cosmo had patience for the young colt and the two where close friends now. Today, Amy would ride Cosmo to the track along side Krazy to make his first race at Snow Pearl a confident one. Krazy's head twisted in all directions skimming over his surroundings. He was weary of the area, but with horses all around him, he grew much more confident. The colt moved forwards, jogging and pushing, side stepping and tossing his head. Marien jabbed an elbow into his shoulder to keep him in place.

Neck arched, he paced forwards, hooves splitting the earth beneath him. She would ride him on the dirt today. It was early morning and patches of golden sun filtered through compact leaves. Krazy was quite content with Cosmo at his side, infact he was more confident than ever. The bay colts head bobbed, his evenly cut main bouncing on his neck. His ears where pricked, his nostrils flaired, he was quivering with excitment. Marien could feel him shifting beneath her, light steps evenly trod like an angel with feathered wings, a creature so dainty and light it made not a sound even when passing over leaf litter. Ah. It was beautiful to be apun the colt, especialy to feel him so relaxed, when he is usualy so tense and frightened.
The track loomed ahead of them, the thoroughbred, Cosmo, at the colts side, ready to take a steady canter with him. Marien gave one glance at Amy to prepare her for the run. "Keep Cosmo back. Don't let him come ahead of Krazy, okay?" Marien spoke, her voice was stern. Amy simply nodded and smiled. Marien looked ahead, her hand re-positioned the crop to an upright position and then she leaned forward "Hup hup hup!" her voice was loud and alarming. Even Cosmo responed to it. The result from Krazy was unexpected. At once, he half-reared and pushed himself off from his hinds, his head dropped, his ears pinned to his scalp. Marien lost her balance and was soon riding with a single stirrup. The horse was speeding! She gathered her weight, managing to seek out her iron.
Krazy was flat out. His neck was low his shoulders where stretching before him in hige speedy strides. Marien smiled, the adrenalin felt amazing, she quickly glanced back, Cosmo was far behind. For once, Krazy was bursting with confidence. And it seemed he actualy knew what he was supposed to do, but as the colt seemed to realise that Cosmopolitan was somewhere far behind, Marien felt him tense. His speed lagged, he even skipped a pace, throwing himself unsteady. He fell back. Marien was confused, she had never witnessed behavour like this before. She urged him on, he sped up slightly, but he was still all over the place. Now Marien could hear the thumping of Cosmo behind them. She could hear his laboured breathing as he came up beside Krazy.
What happened next was even more breathtaking. Krazy was not struggling and they had already run 7 furlongs. With Cosmo's presence clearly taken note of, he gathered himself yet again. Marien looked back to Amy, signaling her to back off, Cosmo was clearly tired. Krazy, yet again, was running flat out. Marien decided to end it on a good note. She half halted. Slowly bringing him back to her, his head now pushed into his chest in a steady canter. She braught him to a trot and allowed him to cool off, soon walking him around. She ran a hand down his sweat lathered neck, tracing over his veins then patting him firmly, "Thats a boy!" she cooed to him "Well done." she relaxed herself, breathing deeply. "Your a bit confusing, but i'll work you out." The colt walked on, his paces elastic, his nairs flaring.
