Registered Name: Footloose Barn Name: Freckles & Freck Age: Four Breed: Thoroughbred Colour: Cremello Markings: None Height: 16.2 hh Gender: Colt
Freckles is a complete doll. With not a bad bone in him, this leggy and finely built colt is a true sight when he puts his all into his running. Many people doubted him when he was younger, because of his odd mellowness and and versatility. But just because he's a bit different from the rest, doesn't mean he shouldn't be given a lesser chance. Freck is quite the character when he wants to be, showing affection to absolutely anybody who will give him a pat in return. He spends his whole life trying to make us happy and only for the rewarding pat he gets at the end of it. Unlike most horses, Freck's mind isn't driven by food, but simply by the love he has for people in general. Sure, put a bucket of food down and he'll eat it, but if he thinks your doing something more exciting he's happy to walk away from it and come and say hello. Freckles has given his racing career his all, and we all understand that not every horse can have a perfect record, but when you think about it, hes placed in 19 out of 32 races, 10 of those being wins. You cant stand there and tell me he hasn't tried. Racing was unnatural for Freck at first, but we asked him, we begged him and trained him to be good at it, it took him some time but he has managed to do it for us and fit it into his everyday life. And he's doing it all for that reassuring, loving and praising pat. We admire him, for his heart and for his spirit, and he will never be forgotten.

Freckles has a unique style of running. He nestles himself into the pack where he sits for most of the stretch, taking it easy until he is signaled by the jockey. It does take a bit to get him to go mind you, a couple taps to his flanks should set him off for starters. He'll push his way through the pack until he gets a clear path, where he breaks to the outside of the pack and from there gives it his all to make sure he's at least a nose-stretch in front of the rest.
