Our little Chance isn't as cute and cuddly as we would like her to be. Chance is very easily irritated, so our advise to anybody handling her - just don't touch her to much. We had this worked out since she was a Weanling, when we tried to pick up her feet, she had a go at us. When we tried to brush her, trim her tail, hose her and pat her, she had a go at us. There's nothing we can do about it as much as we would like, training isn't an option when its hard to even get a saddle on her back. Never the less, as long as it takes for us to saddle her up for a race, she will never disappoint us. She's growing out very nicely for a filly and is bound to stir up a Storm in the racing industry. Chance has a very appealing eye, yet her gentle looks are a mask to how she really behaves. Just about always hot on her heals, she is not one to give up on a fight to easily, although when she's mounted she is reasonably obedient, on the ground she can be a complete devil.

- chance to be a HERO
Chance is very receptive when it comes to being on the track. She's always tuned in and prepared to listen to her jockey. Considering the fact that she hates to be touched to much, this gives us an advantage - all we have to to is dribble the crop along her flanks or her rump and shes doubling her speed. She runs faster because on the track its pretty well impossible for her to show her discomfort by nipping, so she runs faster, and she's learnt that when she runs faster, the tickling stops until she needs to go faster again. When she responds in the way we want, her reward is that the crop is no longer tickling her. The way she runs is a tricky one, she tends to change her tactics a bit. We thought that she would take after her Dad and be a bit of a Mid Runner, but after trying this a couple times she changed her mind to being a Front Runner. I believe its a bit of a spur of the moment decision, between Chance herself and her Jockey.
