Beyond The Limits
MORE ALIVE THAN YOU WILL EVER BE.
Hooves swung at moist turf violently. Mud breaking through the dull and lowly vegetated earth. Huge pillars strike forwards, peircing the air with every dashing and forced stride. Perfection was the only issue here. With a huge bulky chestnut and a small rider. Jaw worked at the bit, jingles sounding the whole track, nearby horses raised their head with the encouraging sound. Muscles rippled, eyes rolled, nairs flaired in anticipation. This image made you wonder. Was this a horse? Or something far more dangerouse? A dinosour braught back to life. Fitted with newly invented red fur and four powerful limbs, cursed with sharp pistons to slice flesh. Or simply to show others who was boss. This a creature of proven ability. A soul blessed with perfected agility. This was something to run from. Face it if you dare.
Okay Okay. Ill tell you what and who this is. This is infact a thoroughbred. A thoroughbred with one of the purest lines around today. A thoroughbred thats name speaks so clearly for himself. His dam a champion racer. His sire something very similar. This, sir, is Beyond The Limits. Be preapred to hold your breath as you see a red flash and only the croud going wild. The chanting of his name and the pulsing of his ever so fine blood. Hear his heart thumping within his chest, his lungs forcing out golden air. Then the medal he so easily won.---------------------------
The day was slightly chilly, but the yellow sun still hung from the sky. Birds sang romantic tunes and horses froliced in the paddocks. One horse in particular was laying peacfuly in the center of his paddock, dozing away. But his rest couldent last forever, the sound of footsteps and opening of the gate startled him. The chestnut stallion slowly raised his head and blinked in the morning sun. Standing just a bit off, Nick, his jockey.
Pulling himself to his hooves the thoroughbred shook himself off and trotted to the small man, nickering excitedly. The front of his rug was shreaded and Nick snarled. "Oh you beast" he said, not angrily just teasing. "Your always biting that rug" he said more softer now. Kiko raised his top lip and tossed his head, almost agreeing. Nick stepped forwards to buckle on the leather halter but Kiko stepped backwards, dodging the flying peice. Nick grunted and chased the stallion around the paddock for quite some time.
The stallion pranced eagerly, his tail held high and his nose in his chest, wanting to break free from the tight hold Nick was holding him in. "Not yet mate" the tanned jockey cooed. The massive chestnut nodded his head, pulling at the bit. Nick smiled and straighened the stallion up. In a matter of time Nick let the reins loose and flicked the horse with his whip. Beyond the Limits broke free from his tight hold and moved into a free gallop, his ears pricked. Nick tugged at the reins and Kiko came back to him at a fast canter. The feeling of being ontop of such a powerful horse never changed. Every single stride the horse took it was amazing, the ammount of energy between horse and rider was unexplainable.
As they passed the 'half mark' Nick gradualy let the stallion loose, giving him slack reins. For a while Kiko just burned on at a canter until he got the okay from Nick to move into a gallop. The massive chestnut allowed his hooves to pound at the soil beneath him. Leaving his scar on the earth until another horse came to replace them, hopeful the stallions filly would follow in her sires tracks and one day also become a champion like the great horse, Beyond the Limits. Kiko's body mass swung slightly around the sharp turn, the horse struggled to keep his footing on the muddy turf but managed. He picked up his full gallop instantly and raced on. Though there was no other horse but him and his shadow, and i think that settles it then, he raced on, fighting for first place with his shadow alone.
